AI TRAINING FOR TEACHERS
As someone deeply fascinated by the potential of artificial intelligence in education, I developed and led a professional development module to address the growing skepticism among fellow educators in my school. This initiative reflected my commitment to being a change agent and technology advocate within my school community. Grounded in empathy and inquiry, the design process began with interviews of teachers to identify their specific concerns, misconceptions, and aspirations regarding the use of AI in the classroom.
This experience was not only informative but transformational. Navigating the fast-evolving landscape of AI tools required me to carefully evaluate which platforms were most practical, ethical, and accessible for classroom use. I then distilled this information into a training session that was approachable and relevant for a wide range of educators.
The final presentation included
Debunking common myths about AI
Highlighted classroom applications
Addressed equity, privacy, and ethical concerns and
Promoted a balanced, realistic view of AI’s capabilities
